It\u2019ll be several years before he makes an impact, but Captain Shreve\u2019s Shelton Harville Jr. is confident he\u2019s made the right choice about his future.<\/p>\n

The freshman pitcher, third baseman, outfielder announced this week that he has committed to Louisiana Tech baseball<\/a>\u00a0and plans to be part of the 2025 signing class.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were a lot of thoughts and prayers that went into the decision,\u201d Harville told The Times. \u201cMy parents and I have many talks about it, and they gave me the clear (choice) to do what I wanted to do \u2013 never rushed me into it or said I couldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Harville already has a fastball in the 86-88 MPH range, which attracted interest from LSU, Mississippi State and others. Previously, he competed on a youth baseball team coached by Captain Shreve coach Todd Sharp.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been great to see his progress over the years with a steady increase in velocity,\u201d Sharp said. \u201cPeople don\u2019t see the work Shelton puts in to achieve his results. I\u2019m excited to work with him over the next four years.\u201d<\/p>\n
